I’m Raúl Sabiote, a Spanish euphonium soloist and conductor. Originally from Almería, in southern Spain, I now live in Lucerne, Switzerland. My path brings together performing, conducting and teaching: three ways of sharing music.

Performance.

My career has taken me across Europe, sharing music with ensembles and audiences in different countries. I have performed as a soloist with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and collaborated with orchestras such as the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and Philharmonia Zürich. I have also brought the euphonium repertoire to venues including Teatro Monumental, the Palau de la Música Catalana and KKL Luzern.

Conducting.

My experience as a performer informs my approach to conducting. I studied at Hochschule Luzern with Michael Bach and Hervé Grélat. In recent years, I have specialised in wind orchestra and brass band repertoire, working with a range of ensembles across Europe.

Teaching.

I share my experience through international courses and masterclasses. I am the founder and artistic director of D’Gata Brass Week, a brass festival in Almería (ES) that brings together leading international tutors and supports the development of young brass musicians.
